Reflecting on the Past, Looking Forward to the Future

As I sit here, reflecting on the past year and looking forward to 2024, I feel a strong sense of pride in Enento, our employees and customers.

2023 has been a year of solid financial performance and innovation for us. But at the same time, it’s been a rollercoaster – marked by a turbulent macroeconomic environment that tested our resilience. In these challenging times we have found strength in our core values and purpose to build trust in the everyday. In fact, in 2023 we both launched our revised strategy, introduced new services, increased our Nordic presence, and delivered a strong financial outcome despite the circumstances.

A Year of Resilience

In 2023 our Swedish operations faced an exceptional downturn in the macroeconomic situation, and this led to a significant fall in demand for consumer credit. But we weathered the storm, focusing on how to be relevant and competitive in the face of adversity. In Finland, we developed new solutions that utilize data from the new governmental credit register, and in Norway and Denmark we continued to experience solid growth. This is proof of our ability to adapt and innovate in response to changing market conditions.

Our Revised Strategy

In 2023 we updated our strategy to reflect our commitment to consistent growth and EBITDA margin expansion. Our aim is to become the leading provider of business information services in the Nordic countries and to retain and strengthen our leading position in the credit information domain. By the new strategy, we made strategic progress and operational excellence a priority. We integrated Digital Processes into our Business Insight business area, launched our first compliance service in Sweden, and introduced our new Nordic decisioning solution, Decision Hub.

Building One Enento

One of our key achievements has been building a more connected, efficient, and responsive Nordic operation. We’ve introduced several new Nordic capabilities, practices, and processes that are key elements in building One Enento and thus increasing our scalability.

Supporting Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of our business model and strategy. We’ve closely linked our sustainability program with our business strategy to ensure that our initiatives provide a competitive advantage and align with our sustainability goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2023 we successfully launched services like the CO2 Calculator and a climate risk report to help companies measure their carbon footprint and financial risks related to climate change. We’re proud to be an enabler of a sustainable economy.

Looking Ahead

As we look towards 2024, we’re aware of the continued challenges and uncertainties in our key markets. But we’re optimistic. The dynamic regulatory environment, coupled with the ever-increasing amount of data, presents opportunities. We’re ready to capitalize on these trends and new business opportunities.

Last but not least I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our customers, employees, partners, and shareholders for their support in 2023. As we step into 2024, let’s continue to build a future of sustainable and profitable growth together.
