Meet Daniel Riemslag, a developer who likes the breadth of what our IT does and that there is something for everyone at UC.
How do you spend the days?
I am part of a fairly newly formed constellation at UC, which aims to streamline and quality assure product development in the Nordic countries. The days are spent discussing API design, bumping and soaking concepts and ideas to make life easier for developers within our Group. In terms of programming, the focus right now is to process and expose a huge amount of company data in various APIs.
How long have you been working with us, and how come you ended up right here?
It’s been a little over five years now. I came in to help with the site allabolag.se and it was really the tip of an iceberg. There was plenty to do and I have acted both as a devops, architect and programmer in both frontend and backend systems to varying degrees.
What’s the most fun thing about your job?
The best thing about being a developer at UC and Eneto Group is probably the breadth of everything that our IT Unit provides. There is something for all tastes. We have everything from old Cobol programs that spin on mainframes to small fast micro services in the cloud and everything in between.
What do you value most about a colleague, and how are you as a colleague yourself?
You should have fun at work. It should be a prestigious and relaxed environment where we share knowledge with each other. I feel that we have that here and I try to pull my straw to the stack.
What do you do when you are not working?
I am a little retro-geek so dutt with assembler on Commodore 64 sometimes. Trying to get noises out of my synths. Reads a book or three, depending on time, then mainly programming books (work injury).
